Being a football fan, I watched both playoff games yesterday. The games were very, very different.
New England, with their Hall of Fame quarterback Tom Brady, made another come from behind victory seemed common place. From a spiritual perspective, I see that life can be very much like a football game. When the going gets tough or even what might seem to be impossible, God takes control of the game if we let Him. He becomes our quarterback and He is totally aware of all the enemies’ defensive tricks. Bottom line…GOD KNOWS HOW TO WIN even in the toughest times!
Now the second game the Minnesota Vikings were favored to win. However, the Eagles came out and spanked them badly. It appeared that the Vikings defense was not prepared, and they were always in the wrong place at the wrong time. The lesson here is that we must be prepared for the spiritual battles that come our way. We do that through prayer, reading God’s Word and the fellowship with God’s people. And we must also use some human wisdom and not find ourselves in the wrong places in life at the wrong times.
